INIVA Miami caught my eye when it was in Wynwood.
But now in a sparkling new shop in Upper Buena Vista, its treasures of fashion, art, design and home decor really shine. Plus, put it on your list as one of the better gift shops Miami.
The African concept store is described as traditional Africa meets Modern Africa. Sandra Bellon, stylist and Sophie Pozmentier, designer, have a discerning eye and taste, and have put together a handsome collection from ten artists, associations and craftsmen from Gabon, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Tanzania, Senegal and Cameroon.
It’s a small shop, but I found myself spending a lot of time, enjoying the creativity, originality and beauty of the pieces. In the clothing department, find light, short jackets in traditional tribal fabrics bordered by sequins and colorful fitted tunic style jackets, both statement pieces along with gauzy white shawls that are perfect for Miami’s climate.
There’s also a selection of cotton boxer shorts and t-shirts for men.
Lovely fabric beads, tribal collars, straw handbags are among the standout accessories.
For the home find chic baskets.
